Last May at the Call2All conference in Jakarta, Leaders of the bases in YWAM Indonesia,

who attended this conference , made a bold commitment to send out short term teams 
to “trail-blaze” all 53 of the Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPG) left in Indonesia by October.

As a part of UofN Bali’s commitment, 2 staff went on a three week trip
in July-Aug to visit three of those UUPG groups in Central Sulawesi.
 They gathered information about the people and their cultures while praying over the areas.
 The following is their story from their experience.

“Our job is not to bring God, because God has existed in each culture long before we even realized it.” This is what God spoke to us before we went to some of the UUPG areas that we as a base were committed to engage with. We went without knowing where and how, but we were fully trusting the Lord for the journey. He brought us through this amazing journey, and we were able to witness His marvelous works in each people group. He truly has existed in each culture, in their lifestyle, their hospitality, their beliefs, and so many other things.

We were able to share our life to the indigenous person who was helping us cross the mountains from the west coast to the east coast. It was an unbelievable  journey to cross this mountain. If it wasn’t for God, we don’t think that it would have been possible for us to make it to the other side. He brought us to meet with local people who were very open and very hospitable. We even received a lot of blessing through local people. In one place the people gave us rice for our journey across the mountain, and though they are poor and living in a place where there is no electricity, they were willing to share their rice with us. They only eat rice, and maybe once in a while they eat rice with one pack of noodles shared between 3-4 people. But that didn’t stop them from blessing us. We were very blessed by this journey, and we hope that God will multiply the seed that has been planted in each people group. We were able to engage with those who were unengaged.
